Narnia - Peter Pevensie

Narnia - Peter Pevensie
Peter Pevensie is the eldest of the Pevensie children in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. His siblings are Susan, Edmund and Lucy. He is responsible for the welfare of sisters and brother. Peter and his siblings are evacuated to Professor Digory Kirke’s country house, away from the bombing of London.

The children have been evacuated to the English countryside due to the bombing of London during World War II by the German Air Force. The children are sent to live with the Professor for their safety, and since Peter is the eldest, he assumes the role of group protector.

Peter Pevensie is a level-headed young man. He and his other siblings, do not believe the stories that young Lucy tells about the world of Narnia through the back of the wardrobe. After listening to Lucy, he investigates the wardrobe for an entrance to Narnia and although finding none, he still warns the others not to tease Lucy.

however...there is an entrance... and once the children arrive in Narnia, he continues as the group leader. Peter gives them each a fur coat for warmth in the frozen kingdom. He is also the one who decides to travel with Mr. Beaver to the beaver home. Mr. & Mrs. Beaver welcomes him for he is a son of Adam (human).

Peter Pevensie receives a Christmas gift from Father Christmas. He receives a sword and shield. The items are to be used to protect the others and fight in the upcoming war. Peter is able to use the sword and shield to protect Susan from Maugrim.

Maugrim, the leader of the White Witch Secret Police tries to kill his sister. Peter tries to prevent the bloodshed, but Maugrim leaves him with no choice and so he is forced to kill him to save Susan’s life.

Peter dresses in chain mail and a helmet to lead Aslan’s forces against Queen Jadis, the White Witch in the final battle. He places himself in the front. Edmund is placed in the rear. Again, Peter is the big brother protecting the others.

Aslan names Peter Pevensie the High King of Narnia. He rules equally with Susan, Edmund and Lucy. The four children rule Narnia for a long period of time.

Read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and the Narnia books to find out more details of the story. Learn about Lucy, her sister Susan, and her brothers Peter and Edmund. Find out why they are living in a large castle like home in the English countryside instead of with their parents in London. What is "Turkish Delight"? What is the wardrobe? What happens when Lucy first discovers the wardrobe and do her siblings even believe her when she tells them what happened to her and what she saw? Are they brave enough to follow her through the back of the wardrobe into Narnia? Who is the White Witch? Who is Maugrim? Who is Queen Jadis? Who is Professor Digory Kirke? Who is Mrs. Macready? Who is Prince Caspian? What is the history of the wardrobe? Do Lucy, Susan, Peter and Edmund ever get to return to London to be with their parents?
