Chronicles of Narnia Clues : Edmund Pevensie

Edmund Pevensie is an odious child in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. He and his siblings live in London, England. World War II is raging. London is under constant bomb attacks. The four Pevensie children are sent to live with Professor Digory Kirke.

Professor Digory Kirke, is a kind old man but he is a recluse. The children are left to their own devices to amuse themselves. One of their favorite games is to play hide-and-seek in the large country house's many rooms.

None of the children believe Lucy Pevensie when she tells them about her trip to Narnia and visiting a Mr. Tumnus. They tease the young traveler unmercilessly. Edmund does the most teasing. He is a little stinker.

Edmund stumbles into Narnia through the wardrobe's portal. Of course, he realizes Lucy has been telling the truth the entire time. Edmund meets Queen Jardis, the White Witch. He accepts some candy, Turkish Delight, from her. Turkish Delight is a very additive candy. Those who eat it never get their fill and will do anything to obtain more of it.

It is Edmund Pevensie’s desire for more Turkish Delight which has him agreeing to do Queen Jardis, the White Witch’s, bidding. She has him promise to keep their Narian meeting a secret. He knows that it is the wrong thing to do, but his lust for the candy overrides his common sense.
