Dear Readers,
As I took a walk in the fresh snow this afternoon, a white Super Cub on skis flew overhead. I waved at my neighbor and he dipped his wing in reply. I also encountered another neighbor out training her sprint dogs, followed by her daughter on snow machine. Finally, as I got to my driveway, a third neighbor drove by in her truck and waved. At that moment it occurred to me that even though we live on the road system, people get around locally by a variety of methods. We are fortunate to live in a town where we can walk out our door and hop on the snow machine or hook up the dogs, and not have to haul them to a trailhead somewhere down the road before heading out in to the country.

Book Review - Sisters by Samme Gallaher & Aileen Gallaher
This book about life in the Copper River Valley in the 1920's and 1930's is full of adventure, yet told with warm-hearted humor and affection for the land and its people.
