"Your Rights as an American Citizen"
This is a series to help all American citizens recognize their rights established in what has been called the American 'charters of freedom.'

The Lord, through the prophet Joseph Smith, stated the following:

"And that law of the land which is constitutional, supporting that principle of freedom in maintaining rights and privileges, belongs to all mankind, and is justifiable before me.

"Therefore, I, the Lord, justify you, and your brethren of my church, in befriending that law which is the constitutional law of the land" (D&C 98:5-6).

If you don´t know your rights, how will you know if they´re being taken from you? In this world, there is an ever-increasing rift between those who love freedom for all people and those who don't. As the hymn states, "Who's on the Lord's side, who?"

I've been guilty in the past of not studying the inspired Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, nor the Bill of Rights. But this is one of my 2009 resolutions and I invite you to join me on this exciting journey! I promise to share all that I learn, and I invite you to do the same--whether through blogs, writing me, or writing others!

Together we can please the Lord by "befriending that law which is the constitutional law of the land" (D&C 98:6)! Here is the article, and have a super week!
