June 23 2010 Alaska Newsletter

Hi friends,

It seemed like summer was never going to get here and now it is flying by. Have you checked out my article on Summer Solstice? We celebrated it this year by listening to the patter of rain on the roof, but what the heck. Here in AK, that only means more wildflowers will be blooming soon!

Speaking of wildflowers,; here's the latest article from the Alaska site at BellaOnline.com. The diversity and abundance of wildflowers on this nearly treeless tundra covered island chain is amazing!

Aleutian Islands Adventures
The Aleutian Islands are one of Alaska’s least visited jewels – a necklace of more than 200 volcanic islands, large and tiny alike, that create an arc far out into the Northern Pacific Ocean. The most well known island in the Aleutian chain is Amaknak Island, home of the town of Unalaska and the port of Dutch Harbor.
