Dear Readers,
Happy July! This is the warmest month of the year, at least in this part of Alaska. And this week was no exception – it was a hot one by our standards here in Chistochina. Under clear blue skies, we hit temperatures in the 80s midweek and were able to get out for a short half-day float trip down the Gulkana River to enjoy it. At one point, there was so much of “cotton” floating over the water (the seeds from the cottonwood trees) that it appeared to be snowing!
Hope you all have a great weekend.
