Here's the latest article from the Alaska site at BellaOnline.com. I wrote this article some time ago, not sure if I wanted to post something about such a heated debate. So, it has been in the wings, waiting for it's day. Due to my refusal to learn how to hit the correct "save" button for this week's article on the Aleutian Islands, the day has come for Oil in Alaska. I think you'll like it.

Alaska cannot be fully explored or written about without mentioning oil. The debate to, drill or not drill, is heated. Almost 85% of the state budget is provided for by oil revenues. Compared to another state known for oil; Texas, where production taxes are only about 5% of state revenues.
