Dark Spectre in the Cemetery
Several years ago, my dog and I were on our nightly walk through the cemetery near our home. Usually, our moonlit walks are fairly uneventful . . . we might see a herd of deer or a raccoon once-in-a-while. Sometimes, though, we encounter something or someone very unexpected.

A Tale of MoMo (Missouri Monster)
Yesterday morning, I drove one of the most beautiful, scenic Mississippi River roads in the country to Louisiana, Missouri, where I talked with Gail Suddarth, long time resident of Louisiana. In 1972, when Gail was about seven years old, she was instrumental in perpetuating the MoMo legend.

Clarendon Hills’ Country House Restaurant
Without a doubt, my next train trip to Chicago will include a visit just west of the city, to the Country House, for a burger and a Bloody Mary. I admit I like a good burger, but that won’t be the only reason I’ll be stopping by the Country House . . .

Granny Dollar and Buster
A story of a special "Granny" and her best friend, Buster, who remains loyal to his mistress well over a century after his death.
