Laura Delgado earned her Ph.D. in Political Science from Rice University in 2004. It sits happily on the shelf while she homeschools her four children (two girls and two boys). She often feels like her two sons, ages five and seven, multiply exponentially overnight, but she relishes the new challenges that each day with them (and their quieter nine and five year-old sisters) brings.

Laura hides from the blazing Houston heat by staying inside and writing on the subjects of children, particularly boys, homeschooling, and Catholicism. She is a regular contributor to Heart of the Matter Online, where she writes exclusively on the subject of homeschooling gifted children, particularly gifted – you guessed it – boys!

After having been married to the same amazing man for the past 15 years (since the day after she turned 21), Laura suspects that boys will always be a mystery to her. It is largely through writing about her sons, and sons in general, though, that she attempts to unlock their secrets!
