Virginia received her Master’s degree in Human Factors / Ergonomics through systems engineering at San Jose State University in 2006. Shortly thereafter, she passed the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics and was awarded the CPE. Since then she has worked with local government to develop work places and work systems.
Virginia says “everything is a learning experience and each piece helps in understanding the next. Without a background in how the body works, in how the mind and body work together, I could not have been so successful in solving problems I’m faced with when people bring me ergonomic problems. Ergonomics is not simply physical. It involves not only the tools we use, but what our approach to the work is; not only how we use the tool, but what we do when we are not using the tool. Ergonomics is an exploration of discovery. Come, Join me!”
