Imagine the surprise I experienced when I walked into my den Friday morning. The NBC’s Today show was on television. There was the Harry Potter Knight Bus!

Scholastic, the American publisher of the Harry Potter Series, is announcing a 37-library tour across America. The Harry Potter Knight Bus Tour starts in New York City and returns to the city July 21 at 12:01 A.M. The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Knight Bus Tour will visit libraries near lucky fans. Harry Potter fans can tour the purple triple-decker bus. Inside the bus, fans can enter a video booth. They can record their thoughts about Harry Potter and view the video on the Scholastic site.

The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Knight Bus is purple inside and out. Images of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book cover are on the bus sides. Gold letters spell the book title and date of release. This is on all four sides of the Harry Potter Knight Bus. The bus is based on the one with the same name in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It is the bus which provides “emergency transport for the stranded witch or wizard.”
