Megaman Anniversary Collection

Are you a fan of the classic MegaMan series? The new Megaman Anniversary Collection has all Megaman games from 1-8 on a single CD!

The PS2 collection does not "add anything" to the games, in terms of graphics and sounds. There is an entry menu that lets you choose which game to play - but that's about it. Still, what more DO you need? You get 8 games for the price of one, all easily played on your current system.

Here are reviews of each of the games that come in the Megaman Anniversary Collection! Note that levels 6, 7, and 8 become locked if you go into a lower game first; they make you win before you can go on.

Megaman 1
Megaman came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and began the classic series. This came out in 1987.

Megaman 2
Megaman 2 was a sequel on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and added new enemies to the story. The graphics and sound improved slightly.

Megaman 3
Also on the NES, in this one you and your robotic dog save the world from ... yes ... killer robots.

Megaman 4
In Megaman 4, the series adds even more robots and improves the graphics again. Industrial robots are on the rampage, fueled by Dr. Wily. Dr Light converted his pal Rock into a fighting robot.

Megaman 5
In Megaman 5, still for the Nintendo base system, Dr. Light has been kidnapped. MegaMan and his bird must save the day!

Megaman 6
Megaman 6 was the last Megaman title for the NES. This involves a robot tourmant that goes haywire, thanks to Mr. X. Only Megaman can set things straight.

Megaman 7
Finally, a non-NES Megaman. This was for the SNES.

Megaman 8
Megaman reaches into a new era with Megaman 8, out for the Saturn and Playstation.

The only real downside here is that when you are in playing a given game, there's often no way "out" to the master Anniversary screen. You have to reset your PS2 to choose another game to play. In some of the games you have to enter a level to then choose to exit to the main menu.

Still, a minor complaint for an 8-in-one game pack. Enjoy!
