Natural Child ADHD Treatment

Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are conditions that make it difficult for some children to control their behavior and/or pay attention. The most common symptoms are inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity. It is believed that some 2 million American children are affected.

For decades, the most common form of treatment has been medication with stimulating drugs such as Adderall, Concerta, Dexedrine and Ritalin. However, the safety of these drugs is now being questioned by the Food and Drug Administration and many public health advocates. Side effects are both physical and psychological. These drugs often interfere with a child’s height and weight growth and may lead to violent behavior and suicide.

Recent research has shown that natural treatment with dietary changes and supplementation can be more effective than drugs without any of the negative side effects. You should start with a good healthy diet, make sure your child gets plenty of exercise and add supplements of natural whole food formulas.
