Harry Potter Treats To Eat
Guest Author - Cheryl Lewis

If you're going to have a Harry Potter party, you've got to have treats to serve your guests, whether they're 6 or 60 years old. These are Harry Potter themed recipes and ideas that are sure to please!

**ButterBeer**

1 pint french vanilla ice cream, softened
1/2 stick of butter, softened
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tsp. of cinnemon
1 tsp. of grated nutmeg
1/4 tsp. of ground clove
1 quart of apple cider

Cream butter, sugar and spices together until they are well blended and very creamy. Beat in the softened french vanilla ice cream. Re-freeze the mixture until it's very frozen. Scoop out the ice cream mix into a glass or large mug. Poor hot apple cider over the ice cream mixture.
**This is really good and it's a favorite of my children and their friends.**

Dragon's Blood Punch

1 to 2 gallons of red fruit punch
1 to 2 quarts of orange sherbert
Dry Ice

Pour the fruit punch into a punch bowl and add sherbert. Stir until the sherbert begins to melt. Add dry ice. **Be very careful with the dry ice. It will burn your skin because it's so cold - follow your distributor's instructions to a T!**

Exploding Loli's

Dum-Dum suckers
honey
pop-rocks

Unwrap the Dum-Dum's and dip in the honey so the sucker is coated. Roll in pop-rocks until it's covered really well with the pop-rocks. Eat like a regular sucker. **Honey should never be given to infants and children should be supervised whenever they are eating suckers.**

Magic Wands

Large Pretzel Sticks
chocolate or white chocolate bark
various sprinkles

Melt the chocolate bark over medium-low heat. Dip one end of the pretzel in the melted chocolate. Roll in sprinkles. **We like these with colored sugars because they are sparkly**

Hedwigs Favorite Owl Food

3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter
8 cups Crispix or Chex cereal
2 cups powdered sugar

Melt the peanut butter, chocolate chips and butter together. In a large bowl, pour over the cereal and stir well. Pour the powdered sugar into a large Ziplock bag and add the cereal. Seal the bag thoroughly, shake well to coat evenly, and pour onto wax paper. Serve in bowls around room.

Chocolate Frogs

1 bag of chocolate chips
1 frog candy mold

Melt the chocolate chips over medium-low heat. Pour into the frog molds and let harden.

Honeydukes Sweet Cakes

1 cake mix of your favorite flavor
Buttercream frosting

Mix and bake your cake mix. Frost thickly with buttercream frosting. You can top each cake with the colored sugar from the wands or sour/gummi worms or even a chocolate frog.

Don't forget the Bertie Bott's Beans to give out too!
