Goodnight Moon (Buenas Noches, Luna)

Guest Author - Taisha Turner

Goodnight Moon (Buenas Noches, Luna)is a classic bedtime story by Margaret Wise Brown. It is a child’s home library must have. The picture book has been in print for more than fifty years.

It is a short poem of goodnight wishes from a young rabbit to every object in his room. Read the picture book using soft tones. The repeating lines are comforting and hypnotic, lulling the youngster to sleep. If you have a child who hates bedtime, this is the book for your family.

This is a great book for babysitters as the book will quiet little ones to sleep. Are you going to a baby shower? Give this book to the future mother. She will love you and this book as much as her peaceful, sleeping child.

Clement Hurd’s ink drawings are brightly, colored. He draws the interior of the little rabbit’s room. The reader and child see each object to which the bunny says goodnights. The colors dim as the story comes to the end.

Goodnight Moon (Buenas Noches, Luna)is available as a board book and picture book. Board books are good for children ages 0-4 because they have poor moter skills. They can turn the thicker pages easily. The picture book is perfect for children ages 4-8 who have better motor skills. If an older child has poor motor skills due to an disability, give him the board book.

Goodnight Moon is so popular, it is available in many languages.
