Cookie Paint

Use "cookie paint", made from egg whites, to beautifully decorate roll-out cookies and still be able to stack them for storing, unlike frosted cookies.

For each color of cookie paint, lightly beat 1 or 2 egg whites with a fork Add a few drops of food coloring. Stir until blended....That's it!

Apply the paint with small "artist's" paint brushes, available in craft and department stores everywhere, in packs of 10 or 12 brushes for a dollar or two. Always wash new paint brushes before using them.

Paint the cookies after they have been cut from the dough and placed on cookie sheets, but before they're baked.

How detailed or elaborate they're painted depends on the painters. This is a fun job for kids!

The cookies in the pictures on this page are
Buttery Sugar Cookies

For more Christmas cookie recipes, click on the cookie tray to see "Tis the Season For Christmas Cookies".

This book features a wonderful collection of classic Christmas cookies from around the world. Makes a great gift for cookie bakers!

I highly recommend this cookie sheet!
It's the best I've ever used!
Cookies always bake evenly
and slide off easily.
