Jill Henry - How the Energy Source Book Changed Her Life
In this article, Jill Henry talks about how writing the Energy Source Book changed her life. I really enjoyed reading her story, especially since it parallels so many of our lives. I think you will find inspiration and encouragement in it just as I have!

How has employing the practices in the Energy Source Book changed your life, spiritually and mentally? Can you share any tangible results with us that have come of these changes?

The world tells us to work hard, sacrifice, and make the best of the lot we have in life. From 1976 to 1988 I was a high powered professional, a tenured Associate Professor at a Medical College, and an elected officer in a national professional organization. And I was totally stressed out! In 1988, as I was completing my dissertation in Adult Education titled Development and Learning for Transformation – I began to actually “listen to” what I was researching. I began to meditate. I began to explore alternate paradigms and worldviews. I discovered the meaning of peace, God, love, and joy in the lives of adults. I absorbed the writings of Abraham Maslow, especially a book published by his wife after his death titled “The Farther Reaches of Human Nature”. And I began to change my view of myself and of the world. All writing I have done since then has been to help me learn how to “calm down”, how to trust in the perfect flow of life, and how to be happy. And as I have learned it, I have been able to share it through workshops and writing.

There is no one perfect answer to living a happy, abundant life. There are times when life is simply miserable. But within misery, we can all find that place of peace deep within. And, in fact, only by finding that peace can we extract ourselves from our misery.

The tangible results I have experienced from the ideas and practices in Energy SourceBook include:
Ø Changing careers, moving from the city to the beautiful North Carolina Mountains, opening a store, developing a website, becoming certified as an Associate Polarity Practitioner, and developing a free public Labyrinth Park nestled between ponds, streams, and old growth mountain laurel.
Ø Developing a faith in the perfect flow of the Universe
Ø Understanding the law of cause and effect – that what I give out I will receive and choosing to give love, peace, and joy as much as possible.
Ø Interacting with people all over the world in their quest for peace, freedom and joy – and perhaps being able to help a little bit with that quest.
