Is It Hot Or Is It Not?

Is It Hot Or Is It Not?
As a famous rap song says, “Don’t believe the hype!”

What hype? Well, unscrupulous supplement companies often take an innocuous substance, usually an industrial waste or by-product, and, by using clever hype marketing, they tout the amazing health benefits to an unsuspecting public as the hottest thing since sliced bread. In many cases these substances are harmless and offer little or no real health benefits. They just leave a hole in your pocketbook. And certainly the company hopes it won’t seriously harm anybody, but occasionally these snake oil products do hurt people – innocent people like you.

The hype marketers prey on you with half-truths, insinuations and innuendoes that are specifically designed to sound like truth or scientific fact. You don’t usually have the time to check into the claims carefully and they hope you won’t have time to research the subject in depth, because, if you do, you might expose them as a fraud.

If you want to protect yourself, whenever you take a supplement you should know “why” you’re taking it. You also need to be sure that what you’re taking is actually delivering the perfect nutrients, in a bioavailable, toxic free form and that it’s going to give you the results you want. It’s best to use pure, effective supplements with sources from the human food chain. The sources should be ingredients you would find in your kitchen, a restaurant or a salad bar.

Unlike the unscrupulous hype marketers, I believe you’re smart. With enough information you can certainly understand the hype for what it really is. Whenever I hear about a nutritional product that “sounds” hot, I’ll research it in depth to discover the truth and then check it out on our special meter to determine “is it hot or is it not?” So stay tuned and we’ll learn a lot and have some fun.
