Olivia - Haunted Hotel – Book Review

Olivia - Haunted Hotel – Book Review
It’s a cold and windy day. It’s getting dark and Olivia’s imagination is getting all fired up. She invites her friends into her newly created “hotel”.

Olivia and the Haunted Hotel by Jodie Shepherd and illustrated by Patrick Spaziante.

When her guests (friends) comment on how large and lovely it is she tells them she actually has lots of hotels, this one isn’t even the largest of them all. “But it is a truly lovely hotel with fine room service and all the niceties you would expect at a fine hotel.” You will enjoy your stay.

She carries out her part with finesse and invites the guests up the long stairway and shows them into their rooms. She provides wonderful room service and truly takes care of her guests.

Unfortunately, she runs out of guest rooms and Ian is offered the bathtub, with all the soap he needs. Ian thinks he won’t want to stay here at this hotel and suggests that there might be a ghost. Claps of thunder and bursts of lightening lend to the spooky effects going on all around them.

Of course, they all know that Ian is just joking. Isn’t he? The lights flicker…

Then the lights go off. They all see the ghost! Or is it a ghost!

A perfect little Halloween book for preschool to grades 2 or 3-7 years old with a nice moral about sharing and including others.

Have an enjoyable time with Olivia and her friends, see how it all works out and join them for ghostly pancakes fixed by her mom.
