Spiced Cider in the Crockpot

Spiced Cider in the Crockpot

  • 1 gallon fresh apple cider
  • 3 cups ginger ale
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
  • 2/3 cup cinnamon heart candies
  • cinnamon sticks
  • 1 or 2 oranges - sliced crosswise

Preparation -
Set the crockpot on high. Pour the cider, ginger ale and orange juice into the crockpot. Add the ground cloves and cinnamon hearts. Cook on high until the cinnamon hearts are dissolved - about 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Set the crockpot on low and cook for about 1 more hour. To serve - Ladle into glass mugs or Christmas mugs. Place an orange slice (standing on end) and a cinnamon stick in each mug before serving.
