Dear Readers,

We’ve received a good 16 inches of snow in the last week, more than we’ve had all winter up to this point. My husband and I are thankful for the extra insulation on the ground – last year both our main water pump and septic line froze and we used the outhouse and a backup pump for a good five months. Hopefully, with the good snow cover this year we won’t have to repeat that Alaska experience!
