Quick Tip: If you want to tone down the commercialization of the holidays, the best time to do it is when your children are young. Older children come to expect what they have always had. If you have guilt about not spending so much money on your child at Christmas, may I suggest opening a savings account in their name. That money will go much further in the long run.
