Strawberry Shortcake Stars Recipe

Strawberry Shortcake Stars

Here's a cute variation of a classic strawberry dessert. This is a fun and easy dessert for kids to prepare.

  • 1 box strawberry flavor gelatin - 4 serving size
  • 1 pound cake loaf
  • large fresh strawberries - washed and hulled
  • whipped topping

Preparation -
Slice the poundcake horizontally into 3 or 4 layers, depending on thickness of the cake, your cookie cutter and how thick you want the shortcake to be. Cut the cake layers into star shapes using a large star-shaped cookie cutter. Slice the strawberries in half lengthwise. Arrange 5 strawberry halves on top of each cake star with the sliced side down. Top with whipped topping.
