Chapter 29 Order of the Phoenix Career Advice. Harry talks to Lupin and Sirius about Snape and talks with McGonagall about his future career plans.
Harry lies to Hermoine and Ron about why he no longer has class with Snape, just saying he has learned enough. He thinks about how mean his father was to Snape, that it wasn't even like Snape had done something wrong. His dad had said "It's more the fact that he exists, if you know what I mean" - so he was just harassing Snape because Snape was different.
Harry, Ron and Hermoine examine their career options, and Fred and George show up. They offer to make a diversion so that Harry can use the floo in Umbridge's office, which is unmonitored. Hermonie tries all day to convince Harry not to do it.
Harry goes to his career session with Professor McGonagall, and Umbridge is there watching. Harry says he wants to be an auror. McGonagall says this requires five NEWTs of Exceeds Expectations plugs very tough testing. Umbridge says that Harry should not be given false hope. The time ends up with the two teachers shouting at each other.
The twins' distraction begins and Harry uses the floo - and finds Lupin. Lupin gets Sirius for Harry, and Harry tells them about the memory. Lupin says that James was only 15, but Harry angrily says that HE is fifteen now. Sirius and Lupin agree they were jerks at the time but they grew out of it. The two are furious when they learn Snape is no longer teaching Harry. Footsteps come and Harry has to break off.
He hides in his cloak and sees Filch come to get a paper giving him Approval for Whipping. Harry runs to the front hall and sees Fred and George have been caught. Apparently the twins have turned a corridor into a swamp. Before Umbridge can punish them, they grab their brooms and take off to their new store in Diagon Alley.
