Children's Books Review : The Release of The Penultimate Peril

Guest Author - Taisha Turner

Okay The Series of Unfortunate Events fans, the title of book # 12 is known. The title is The Penultimate Peril. What a mouth full!

Lemony Snicket is back telling the latest Bauldelaire orphans’ misfortunes. The book starts where the Grim Grotto ended. In The Penultimate Peril, Violet, Klaus and Sunny are investigating Hotel D. Is the place safe for a VFD meeting?

Count Olaf and his cohorts are in pursuit of the children. They are determined to stop the brother and sisters from their mission. Read their unusual ways to thwart the kids.

Tim Curry returns as the narrator on the audio book. His voice is the perfect choice. Curry’s rendition enhances the story.

If you don’t have the time to sit down and read The Penultimate Peril, get an audio book. Don’t miss the twelfth in the series. Also, don’t allow the humor to distract you. Focus on the task at hand while listening to the story, if you can!

Here are the other books in The Series of Unfortunate Events. Start with The Bad Beginning and end with The End.

Read the 2005 Quill Award winners in the children’s books categories.
