Dr. Seuss writes What Was I Scared Of? The Little Dipper Hardcover has twenty-three pages. It is a great picture book for all ages. However, the target age group are kids between four and eight-years-old.

Plot/Summary: A young boy sees a pair of empty pants everywhere. Where ever he goes the same pants are there. Terror strikes the boy.

Dr. Seuss writes silly place names and draws silly characters to ease the tension. The story book begins as a very scary story. The pants are everywhere! Why? To do harm?

Like many Dr. Seuss stories, it is a fable. What Was I Scared Of? by Dr. Seuss conveys the message, check out the situation! Everything(one) is not as scary as it(one) first appears. Do not fear the unknown.

What Was I Scared Of? (Mini-Book) by Dr. Seuss was originally published in Sneetches and Other Stories. Dr. Seuss' fable is great for Halloween. Yet, it is good year round as a reminder not to fear the unknown person, place or thing. The unknown when known can be ordinary and wonderful, not scary.
