Christmas Prayer for Children

"Holly trees with berries red
Children early tucked in bed
Thoughts alive with holiday cheer
For Christmas morning's almost here

It was so long ago a babe
Changed our lives with what he gave
He shared his love with everyone
This precious gift of God's own Son.

And so on Christmas day we take
The time to give and share and make
A special place inside our hearts
Where love will live and not depart.

Let's celebrate our joy and peace
Share our love with all we meet
Remembering that the newborn babe
Lives safely in our hearts this way
Lives safely in our hearts today!"

As a follow up activity after reading this little prayer with your children, have them draw pictures of the message in each paragraph, and collate the pages into a little prayer book for them.

More stories for children to learn and illustrate are listed in the links below the article.

I invite you to join me in a daily group cyber meditation for personal and planetary peace. Click the article here to read about it.

Meditation and Spiritual Stories for Kids by Susan Kramer

Meditation and Spiritual Stories for Kids
Ebook: Read how Anneke, Hans and friends, while enjoying the outdoors near the sea in North Holland, learn meditation techniques, and how prayer, reflection and enthusiasm contribute to their happiness. These eight short meditation stories, parables, illustrated with photos of North Holland, show that even without lessons in the classroom we can learn to function well amongst our fellow humans and the environment. Nature teaches us how to live in harmony when we are quiet and observant most of all, enjoy these little stories that are easy to remember, and will stick with you like mother's pancakes and syrup on Sunday morning. 4,000 words.
