The Night Before Christmas - Book Review The Night Before Christmas is a poem by Clement Clarke Moore. He wrote the yuletide rhyme in 1822 for his own children. Clement is an American poet and scholar. The poem was published in 1823. ‘Twas the night before Christmas, when through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse . . .’ The following books offer different visions of Clement C. Moore’s classic Christmas poem. Generations have enjoyed the verse. Here are several choices in picture book, board book and pop-up book formats. Choose a book by your favorite illustrator.
