Getting rid of old things, dusty things; changing the décor of our homes. For many of us, it is also time for us to do a little Spring cleaning spiritually. Defining Who You Are We find ourselves defining who we are by our occupation; that thing we do for hours on end. But is that really who you are? That's what you do, but what about who you are. How would you define yourself if you didn't do what you did for a living? This Easter Season This Easter season I want to remember the lessons that I was taught through the people that I love. Talking About Race In America The talk of race in America is uncomfortable for many. However, not talking about it or evading the issues at hand does not alleviate it or make it disappear. Instead, it only festers and picks up legs and feet and begins to run amok; causing devastation in its wake. The Ensuing Fight For Justice In wake of the tragic death of seventeen year old Trayvon Martin, there has been a loud cry for justice. Protesters are banning together with the family of this slain 17 year old, and are crying out against the continued slayings and profiling of our black males. It's a continued fight for justice. Five Small Steps To Breaking Mental Stress Our minds are on overload. It is time to take a few steps back and regain our mental health. A Heart Matter...African-Americans & Heart Disease Coronary heart disease or cardio vascular disease is claiming more African-American lives than any other race. African American adults are more likely to be diagnosed with coronary heart disease, and they are more likely to die from heart disease. Your Vote Holds A Lot of Weight The efforts to curtail and even stop voters from reaching the ballot boxes has stepped up. Tougher regulations and rules have been imposed that could potentially see millions of voters turned away come election day. Your vote holds a lot of weight and can pack a pretty hard punch this election. Remembering Whitney Houston Remembering the life of Whitney Houston.
