Chocolate Chip Cookies - Original Toll House Version

Original Toll House Cookies

  • 2-1/4 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar - firmly packed
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 - 12 oz. pkg. ( 2 cups) Nestle's semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional

Preparation -
In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking soda , and salt; set aside. In a large bowl, combine the butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Beat until creamy. Beat in the eggs. Gradually add the flour mixture and mix well. Stir in the morsels and nuts (if using). Drop by rounded tablespoons full onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in a preheated oven at 375º for 9 to 11 minutes.
