Slow Cooked Baked Apples

Slow Cooked "Baked Apples"

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 T. raisins
  • 2 T. finely chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 6 medium size Granny Smith or Rome Beauty apples, washed and cored
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 T. butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup water

Preparation -
Mix the brown sugar, raisins, and nuts together. Fill centers of the apples with the brown sugar mixture. Arrange the apples in the bottom of the crockpot. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Dot with butter. Add water, cover, and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 3-1/2 hours.
