American Peak Seasonal Produce List - November


This seasonal monthly produce list for America begins with the Northeastern states followed by the South, then the Midwest, the Southwest and finally the West. Even though other produce will be in season in your region, this list is compiled of ingredients that are at the peak of their season only.



The Northeast – November


MAINE
Arugula, carrots, collard greens, cranberries, leeks, lettuces, kale, parsnips, rutabaga and winter squash.

MASSACHUSETTS
The growing season is dormant during November, so rely on fruits and vegetables which have been stored for the winter months. Ask your local grocer.

NEW HAMPSHIRE
Apples, Asian pears, beets, broccoli, cabbage and kale.

MARYLAND
Apples, broccoli, pumpkins, sweet potatoes and turnips.

RHODE ISLAND
Apples, arugula, beets, broccoli rabe, cherries, cranberries, grapes, lettuces, parsnips, and radishes.

CONNECTICUT
Apples, carrots, garlic, mushrooms, onions, pears, potatoes, turnips and winter squash.

NEW YORK
Beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, radishes, turnips and winter squash.

VERMONT
Kale

PENNSYLVANIA
Beets, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, potatoes, pumpkin, turnips and winter squash.

NEW JERSEY
Cauliflower and lettuce.


DELAWARE
Cabbage, chestnuts, pumpkin, spinach, sweet potatoes, turnips.



The Southern States – November


ALABAMA
Collard greens, citrus, cucumbers, herbs, lettuce, pecans, persimmons, potatoes, pumpkins, rutabaga, sweet potatoes, turnip greens, and winter squash.

ARKANSAS
Broccoli and cabbage.

FLORIDA
Avocados, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, green beans, peppers and strawberries.

GEORGIA
Apples, arugula, kale, lettuce, peppers, sweet potatoes, tomatoes and Vidalia onions.

KENTUCKY
The month of November is dormant in Kentucky, so rely on your choices from storage such as fruits and vegetables.

LOUISIANA
Cucumbers, garlic, lettuce, Muscadine grapes, okra, peppers, persimmons, pumpkins, scallions and sweet potatoes.

MISSISSIPPI
Pumpkins, sweet potatoes and turnip greens.

NORTH CAROLINA
Apples, broccoli, cabbage, cucumbers, peanuts, pecans and sweet potatoes.

SOUTH CAROLINA
Apples, cucumbers, lettuces, lima beans, peppers, scallions, sweet potatoes and tomatoes.

TENNESSEE
Brussels sprouts, cabbage and collard greens.

VIRGINIA
Apples, broccoli, peppers and spinach.

WEST VIRGINIA
Apples, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, leeks, kale, lettuce, mushrooms, potatoes and winter squash.



The Midwest – November


ILLINOIS
Apples, cabbage, horseradish, onions, peppers, pumpkin, spinach, sweet potatoes and winter squash.

INDIANA
Cauliflower
IOWA
Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrots, celery, kohlrabi, snow peas and sugar snap peas.

KANSAS
Spinach and turnips.


MICHIGAN
Michigan is dormant during November, so rely on storage such as fruits and vegetables.

MINNESOTA
Apples, carrots, garlic, onions, potatoes and winter squash.

MISSOURI
Apples, beets, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, garlic, horseradish, pears, pumpkins and scallions.

NEBRASKA
Nebraska is dormant during November so rely on fruits and veggies in storage.

NORTH DAKOTA
Cabbage

OHIO
Broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and collard greens.

SOUTH DAKOTA
Apples, beets, carrots, celery root, garlic, kale, leeks onions, potatoes and winter squash.

WISCONSIN
Wisconsin is dormant in November so use produce that has been stored such as fruits and veggies.

American Regional Seasonal Produce
The Southwest – November


ARIZONA
Apples, arugula, beets, cabbage, carrots, corn, grapefruit, lemons, peppers, pumpkin, spinach and winter squash.

NEW MEXICO
Apples, grapes, lettuce, pears, potatoes, pumpkins, radish, sweet potatoes and winter squash.

OKLAHOMA
Beets, Brussels sprouts, pears, pumpkins, Swiss chard, turnips and winter squash.

TEXAS
Cucumbers, peppers, tomatoes and watermelon.

The Western States – November

(September through December you should start to see
Chestnuts in this region.)


ALASKA
Dormant – rely on storage items such as fruits and veggies.

CALIFORNIA
Apples, artichokes, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cucumbers, pomegranates, potatoes and sweet potatoes.

COLORADO
Apples, carrots, onions, potatoes and winter squash.

HAWAII
Atemoyas, avocados, burdock, limes, mangoes, oranges, papayas, rambutans, tangerines and taro root.

IDAHO
Apples, onions, potatoes and winter squash.

MONTANA
Dormant – rely on storage such as fruits and veggies.

NEVADA
Apples, potatoes and pumpkins.

OREGON
Apples, cabbage, cauliflower, hazelnuts, potatoes, pumpkins, walnuts and winter squash.

UTAH
Dormant – rely on storage.

WASHINGTON
Apples, Asian pears, beets, cranberries, mushrooms, potatoes, radish, rutabaga and turnips.

WYOMING
Broccoli, cauliflower leeks, onions, potatoes, spinach, sweet potatoes and winter squash
