Mommy Hugs’s simple pictures are illustrated by Georg Hallensleben. The colors are bright. Use the primary colors to teach a small child the names of the different colors. The mommy and baby animal pictures are adorable.

Anne Gutman describes how an mommy animal hugs her baby. Her simple words convey the affection behind each mommy's soft touch.

For example, Anne Gutman in Mommy Hugs describes the beauty of a mommy cat’s hug. She writes that a mommy cat hugs her kitten with a nuzzle. Georg Hallensleben’s picture captures the love between the two. The animals are soft and cuddly.

She follows next with a parrot. Here she writes, a mommy parrot hugs her baby with a nibble. And she writes about a polar bear, an elephant and a monkey. The last pair is a mommy human with her baby.

The board book’s soothing tempo makes Mommy Hugs a great bedtime book. Your baby will take comfort in the love between the mothers and children in the book. A baby will enjoy the family love conveyed in the story.

Board book's thick pages are perfect for children ages: 0-4. Children that age have undeveloped motor skills. The pages are made so children can turn the pages themselves. All children to read and/or look at the pages on their own. Children love to imitate grownups.
