Horton Hears a Who! Pop Up Book

Horton Hears a Who! Pop Up Book's text is by Dr. Seuss. David A. Carter designs the magnificent pop ups. Fifteen pop ups decorate the Dr. Seuss novelty book. This is no abridged copy of Dr. Seuss’ classic story book. The pop up book contains all of Dr. Suess’ original text. Fifteen pop ups fill the tween book. The middle school student can move objects and pull tabs to manipulate the scenes. David A. Carter’s designs and Dr. Seuss’s rhymes are a great combination.

David A. Carter places much thought into his adaptation of the famous picture book. Pop ups are within pop ups. The tween can manipulate different objects. Wheels and clocks turn to reveal more magical views of Horton the elephant's world. A pull of a string leads to other creative scenes.

For those unfamiliar with Horton Hears a Who! story, Horton is an elephant. He finds a speck of dust on which the citizens of Who-Ville live. Horton places the dust on a clover head and promises to protect them. However, the other jungle(forest) animals are unable to hear the Whos and believe the elephant is batty. They chase and try to separate Horton from his clover.

David A. Carter’s Pop Up book is for children between eight and twelve-years-old and older. The paper is sturdy and can withstand repeated usage. However, active toddlers and elementary kids may damage the artwork. The original picture book Horton Hears a Who! is appropriate for preschool and elementary children. Horton Hears a Who! Can You? is an infants and toddlers board book. It is a sturdy novelty and activity book.
