I've been away on a computer-free vacation for awhile... the kind of vacation you don't want to take, but is thrust on you anyway.

My computer bought the farm and left me stranded, without email or access to many of the sites I work for or rely on, and it was exceedingly stressful. For a few days, anyway. Strangely, I found that I didn't need to talk to people I cared about through pixels. I didn't need to find out if it really was true that TomKat were splitting up. I didn't need to connect to find out how things were going in my own little corner of the planet, let alone the rest of the world. It was fun to let another technology -- carbon-based life forms -- be my boss for a little while. Although I must admit that while my old computer was being reinvented I did dabble with a growing technology, the virtual kind, called Second Life where I now have several shoppes showcasing my products, and I get to play grown-up Barbies with my RL friends.

So in a way, I got a first life, and started developing a second. All it took was a little box that didn't work any longer and the sun coming out for spring, and things changed in a big way :)

My book, Dessert Cocktails, is doing great, and thanks to all who have ordered it, recommended it to others, or leave reviews on their websites. I appreciate it!
