Breakup In Alaska
What is the big deal about spring breakup in Alaska? The days get longer, the snow melts, the ice moves on out to sea. No big deal, right? Wrong.

Kate Shugak Series-Review
Book number 18 in the Kate Shugak series by author Dana Stabenow of Homer Alaska has been published. I read through all of the previous books to be ready for the release of "Restless in the Grave". This is a great series of books that are a lot of fun to read.

The Seward Highway-Scenic Highways Series
The 127 mile Seward Highway is not only a designated Alaska Scenic Byway, but it's so beautiful it also is designated as a USDA Forest Service Scenic Byway, and All-American Road.

Mighty Yukon River
Almost 2000 miles long from its beginning in the Yukon Territory, stretching across the state of Alaska, through the Yukon Flats in the east, the mountains across the center, the Yukon Delta in the west, finally reaching its destination in the Bering Sea, the Yukon River is certainly mighty.

Wildflowers of Alaska
When thoughts turn to Alaska, glaciers, bears, and northern lights come to mind quickly. Wildflowers are probably not top on the list. However, there are hordes of beautiful wildflowers in Alaska and many are even edible.

Reasons to Visit Alaska
Maybe you haven't been able to come up with enough reasons to visit Alaska. While I personally find that impossible to imagine, I thought I'd help out. Here's just a few for you to ponder.

The Glenn Highway-Scenic Highways Series
If a trip to Alaska has you building your own itinerary, you will more than likely fly into Anchorage. There is plenty to do in this bustling city, but once you’ve rented your car or RV and are ready to hit the road, you can start out by heading north on the Glenn Highway.

Kennel Tours in Alaska
Watching the Iditarod for the first time, I've become seriously enamoured with the dogs and their mushers. If your trip to Alaska allows some free reign, consider working one of these kennel tours or adventures into your itinerary.

Why Alaska?
What it is about Alaska? Many have asked the question. Why does this place draw hundreds of thousands, every year from May to September, for a glimpse of the majesty that is Alaska? What would draw YOU here?

Iditarod Fun Facts
The Alaska Iditarod is full of history, competition, and dogs!
