Asthma

Asthma
Asthma is a condition that affects many children in our communities and schools. Families raising children newly diagnosed with asthma have many questions and concerns that increase their anxiety about their child's quality of life, health and safety. Children who are growing up with asthma deserve the best information and support we can find for them, including awareness of the side effects of medications. Although our sons and daughters can be taught to take increasing responsibility for maintaining their health as they grow up, it is important that we assure them that it's okay to feel overwhelmed or want to take a vacation from that responsibility occasionally. Offering more support as well as greater independence may be appreciated by our children depending on how they are feeling and what they want to do.
