Painted Eggs and Chocolate Bunnies

Painted Eggs and Chocolate Bunnies is by Toni Trent Parker. Color photographs are by Earl Anderson. The twelve-page picture book is great for spring and Easter. The spring theme book is for children between four and eight-years-old. Yet, younger children enjoy listening and viewing the photographs.

Toni Trent Parker’s picture book contains photographs of adorable African-American children celebrating spring’s arrival. Tulips, bunnies, ducks and Easter baskets share the photographs with the kids. Little children wear Easter outfits. Girls wear pretty Easter dresses with matching bonnets. Boys are handsome in new Easter suits. African-American children and their friends enjoy seeing the beautiful smiling children.

Toni Trent Parker uses short simple sentences to tell the story. Children in the target age group can easily read Painted Eggs and Chocolate Bunnies on their own. The soothing picture book makes a good bedtime story. An older sibling can read it to a younger one, thus allowing parents to accomplish a chore or rest.

Painted Eggs and Chocolate Bunnies is a medium sized rectangular book. They pad the book’s covers. Thus, injury or damages are minor if a small child throws it. Parents understand this happens. The pages are glossy, so spill wiped early do not damage the page.

Share the arrival of spring and Painted Eggs and Chocolate Bunnies with a child. Talk about spring with kids. Walk around the neighborhood. Point out signs of spring. Buds on trees, returning birds, earthworms and pussy willows are a few signs. Of course, signs of spring will vary from place to place.
