Easter Books

Easter is a time of joy for young children. The days are warmer and longer. Spring flowers are not the only scent in the air, but chocolate too. It is a Christian holiday for those of the faith. For others, it is a festival with the Easter Bunny, egg hunt and gift giving. Authors write picture, board and activity books to celebrate the holiday. Coloring books and holiday stickers are available too.

The resurrection of Jesus is the subject of many picture and board books. Religious (church) services are the subjects of others. Simple sentences tell the story of the Christian holiday. Use the books to reinforce Biblical studies.

Christian kids and children of other religions love the Easter baskets and the egg hunt. Books have characters engaging in the activities. Again, children enjoy viewing pictures and hearing simple stories about their favorite time of the year.

The following are the summaries of different Easter books for children. Click on the title for the full review. Many authors who write a series have an Easter book. Therefore, if your child likes a certain author, invest in an Easter book by that author. Continue sharing the love of books during the Easter holidays. Happy Easter!

Spot's Easter Surprise Spot and friends go on an Easter Egg Hunt and get a lesson on sharing. Board Book.

Painted Eggs and Chocolate Bunnies Children view color photographs of children in Easter finery with Easter baskets, flowers and baby animals. Picture Book.

Owen's Marshmallow Chick Owen announces everything is "My Favorite" in his Easter Basket. His marshmallow chick is a favorite, too. Will he eat it as he did his other favorites? Board Book.
