Calorie Cycling Diet for Fatloss

If you've tried any popular diet than chances are you've experienced calorie cycling for fatloss. Some diets restrict starchy carbs in the beginning then increase them as you progress through phases, others do the complete opposite and give you more freedom in the beginning then completely deplete you of carbs and fat by the end of your program, while others cycle calories every other day. Either way the goal is fatloss while maintaining lean muscle and all of these methods work. Below you'll get clued in about why it works and how to do it yourself.

Here's The Real Reason Calorie Cycling Works
According Ori Hoffmekler author of The Warrior Diet: Switch on Your Biological Powerhouse For High Energy, Explosive Strength, and a Leaner, Harder Body, "humans have primarily adapted to strive while rotating between different seasonal foods and thus different ratios of macronutrients. Furthermore, due to primal necessity to survive on different accessible food sources (i.e. vegetarian or animal food) humans were forces to cycle their diet and adapt to different ratios of protein/fat/carbs. There is no "one ratio that fits all".

Other Reasons Calorie Cycling Works
Imagine having to eat the exact same way day in an day out for years? Boring!! This is the reason that most diets lead to failure and weight gain. They're too rigid and they don't take your lifestyle and preferences into consideration. A healthy diet that cycles calories, carbs, fat, and even protein is more effective for fatloss because it can work in combination with your activity levels, busy schedule, social life, energy levels as well as your health.

Simple Way To Incorporate Calorie Cycling for Fatloss
  • Active Day Eating: focus on eating moderate amounts of protein, along with moderate amounts of all carbs (grains, veggies, fruits), and some healthy fats. Keep your calories medium to high depending on how high the activity level is. If you'll be running, hiking or strength training intensely, and if you need to rush between meetings, errands, and practices, eating this way keeps energy levels higher, burns calories and fat while helping build or maintain lean muscle mass.
  • Sedentary Day Eating: focus on eating more lean protein and healthy fats, lots of raw veggies and very few starchy carbs and fruits. If you'll be working at your desk, traveling to all day meetings, enjoying a day at the park with kids, shopping, or planning to do yoga, pilates, this way of eating controls calories and hunger naturally while stimulating fat burning, and improving focus.
