Rethink Your Quick Weight Loss Plans Looking for a quick weight loss plan? No problem they're everywhere and you will get results but that's not the real issue explains fatloss expert Tom Venuto, author of the #1 fatloss guide online Burn The Fat. Everybody and their grandma can lose weight fast. You see it on t.v. every week explains Tom so it's not fast weight loss that's the issue "what we really have is a keeping the weight off problem." Quick Weight Loss Isn't Real Weight Loss Back in 2000 when my son was 5 I decided I was done with the extra 30 pounds so I set out to lose weight fast. I was doing cardio workouts 8 times a week, lifting weights 3-4 times a week doing pilates or yoga 1-2 times a week and eating 1200 calories a day on the Zone diet. And it worked. In less than 4 weeks I had lost 8 pounds of water and muscle. My pant size was the same and I still looked and felt fat. "What really matters is not how much weight you lose, but how much FAT you lose." explains Tom. "Where did your weight loss come from? Did you lose body fat or lean body mass? Weight is not the same as fat. Weight includes muscle, bone, internal organs as well as lots and lots of water. What you really want is fat loss, not weight loss. If you only wanted weight loss, I could show you an easy way to lose 20 or 25 pounds in about 5 minutes. Just come over to my house. I have a really sharp hacksaw in my garage, and we’ll just slice off one of your legs, after all it’s just extra weight right?" The Major Problem with Quick Weight Loss If You're Not Obese When you're obese you can afford to lose weight fast explains Tom but if you're just overweight losing it too fast causes all kinds of problems including loss of muscle mass, slower metabolism, disordered eating, just to name a few. I know from my own experience 9 years ago that what Tom is saying is right on the money but that doesn't mean you have to settle for slow weight loss. Here's How To Lose If You Want To Keep It Off If you're not obese Tom suggests you stick to 1-2 pounds per week and if you're already close to your ideal weight then 1/2 to 1 pound per week is going to work better. This doesn't sound as exciting as those extreme body makeover shows you see on t.v. but keeping it off is virtually guaranteed since you will have to work at establishing healthy habits for life. I can tell you that losing it slower worked better for me since the weight that came off after my initial extreme loss was actually fat. That's when I saw the big drop from size 12 pants to size 6 pants (and it just kept going down after that). Want to lose the fat forever? Sign up for Tom's free How To Burn Fat ecourse.
