It is my goal to reach 1000 people following me on Twitter by the end of this year. If you know someone who wishes to keep up with disability news, newspaper articles, and other information so they can encourage and support children with disabilities and their families, please invite them to browse through recent 'tweets' at:
http://www.twitter.com/downsynadvocacy
Through this Twitter account I help spread news and information for families, educators and medical professionals working with children who have special needs of any kind.
You do not need to have your own twitter account to find the links, events or articles I share there.
You may wish to sign up for a twitter account and choose to blocks stranger from seeing your messages or those of people or organizations that you follow. I do search for organizations who post messages on Twitter and retweet (also known as RT)their messages directly so that anyone following me can easily choose to follow (receive direct tweets from) organizations or individuals that interest you. If you are active in a parent group or advocacy organization, you may find that twitter is an effective and easy way to communicate with others in your community about events and items of interest to you all. And of course, you can quit whenever you wish.
To participate in free, fun online discussions, this site has a community forum on Childhood Disability located here -
http://forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=57
I hope to hear from you sometime soon, either in the forum or in response to this email message. I thrive on your feedback!
Have fun passing this message along to family and friends, because we all love free knowledge!
