Vampirates Demons of the Ocean

Guest Author - Taisha Turner

Vampirates: Demons of the Ocean by Justin Somper opens with two twins, Connor and Grace Tempest. There is a sea storm clamoring outside their bedroom window. The wind is howling. Thunder booms and lightening streaks the night skies. The storm awakens Grace who is fascinated by natureís fury. Connor is a bit afraid of it.

The twins go to the top of the lighthouse in which they live. There they join their lighthouse keeper father. The whereabouts of their mother is unknown. All of the twinsí life, their father tells them a Vampirate shanty. He retells the shanty this night to wile away the time as the wind blows through the tiny sea town. Everything is safe and secure at the top of the lighthouse.

Alas, nothing stays the same. The kind father who tells Vampirate shanties dies. Everything is mortgaged and there is no money in the bank. An unkind banker family wants to adopt the twins. What are the twins, Grace and Connor, to do?

In Vampirates: Demons of the Ocean, the seas lure the pair to the open waters. Escaping on their fatherís mortgaged boat, they sail the seas. A mighty storm shipwrecks the boat. The twins are thrown into dangerous black waters. Each twin is found in the swirling waters and rescued by pirates on separate ships.

Connor grows to love the piratesí life. He learns to use a sword and tactics to attack other ships. Ship duties, such as swabbing the decks, are not offensive to him. Connor has friends among his fellow pirates. Life is grand except there is no Grace.

Life is not so grand with Grace. She is on a mysterious ship. Day by day, she comes to realize the shanty her beloved father told the twins is true. So true, she must find a way to escape the ship which was once her shelter in the storm.

Read Justin Somperís Vampirates: Demons of the Ocean and enjoy Grace and Connorís adventures. Enter a future world, where there are pirates who are vampires. Yes, vampires! Justin Somper crafts a story containing two popular themes with young readers: horror and pirates. It is a good pirate story with a twist.

Justin Somper's Vampirates Demons of the Ocean is the first book of his Vampirates Series. Tide of Terror and Blood Captain continue the series. Justin Somper's fourth and fifth Vampirates Sequence are Black Heart and Dead Deep. All vampire pirate books are available at Amazon.com and the library.

Blood Captain is book 3 of the Vampirates series. The Tempest twins are apart, again. Grace tries to help Lorcan. Connor has trouble with the captain's nephew, Moonshine.
