Terror Bombings in London

Our deepest sympathies go out to those involved in and affected by the terrible attacks in London July 7. Early reports estimate that 40 individuals lost their lives and over 600 were injured, with many of the physical injuries described as minor, but most quite serious.

In the days to come, I hope we will learn more about each individual who lost a life today, or will lose their lives in the days to come as a result of these acts of terrorism. They will be missed by their loved ones, and everyone on the planet who regrets that their lives were cut short with no thought to the tremendous value each one had in the world.

The immediate emotional effects may be serious, and long term anxiety, as well as post traumatic stress syndrome, may result, but what has been most impressive on the news are the survivors who reflect the best and most admirable of the character of the British people. Emergency personnel and public safety officers responded immediately, with grace and courage.

Families may need help supporting children during the coming weeks as they hear more about the terror attacks in conversations or on television.
