Choosing the Right Clothes Can Develop Confidence

Choosing the Right Clothes Can Develop Confidence
One of the easiest ways to boost your self confidence is to find clothing that you love. No matter if you feel that your body is too thin or too fat. That your legs are too short or your elbows are funny looking, we all can find clothing that makes us feel great. Think you don't have enough money to dress well? Check out second hand stores? Having trouble finding clothes that fit? Network to find someone handy at sewing and trade services with them for something you are good at.

A couple of years ago, I was returning from a trip to Hawaii and I put on a red shirt that I liked. I felt great about myself and was ready to head back home. Traveling alone I was able to leave for the airport early and take my time once I was there. I smiled at everyone and was pleased to see all the smiles I received in return. A shirt I had liked before, now became my favorite, because I knew that people were responding to how good I looked. I went to use the restroom before the flight and while washing my hands I looked into the mirror. My shirt, the one I felt so confident and wonderful in, the one I was giving credit for my happy interactions, was on inside out. It was obviously on inside out, no possibility that it was designed that way, it was on wrong!

So what’s the point of that little story? That if you feel great in the clothes that you wear, it really is not about the clothes. It is about your mindset. You don’t need to have designer labels nor the latest fashions to make you a beautiful woman.

So take the time to find your style. Try on various outfits to see what works well on your body. While clothes can be wonderful to help hide little areas we may not like, they can also be fabulous for showing off those areas we love.

Make sure that you are wearing the right size. This has nothing to do with the number on the label! Try clothes on. Even if you can squeeze into a smaller size does it look good on you? The same goes for wearing clothes that are so large they completely hide your body. Do they really make you look your best? Take an honest appraisal of yourself in the mirror.

When defining your style make sure the clothing will fit in with your daily activities. The clothes that I wore working in an office were different than those I wore when I worked as a chef. You can look magnificent but the clothes need workable in your life.

Allow yourself some time to discover who you are. This is certainly true if you have not paid a lot of attention to your clothes in the past. The process of defining your style may take a while. There will be some clothes that just don’t work no matter how much you love how they look on the hanger and other outfits will become your go to staples. Just remember to be gentle with yourself and wear the clothes that make you feel great. Even if that means you have to wear them inside out!
