Cocktails with Editor Michelle Dompierre Southern, for BellaOnline Michelle's Fuzzy Peach Iced Teas

Refreshing on a hot summer day, I came up with this recipe after a long day of house-hunting. A fun, grown-up twist on the classic iced tea. Also linked to my Mocktail version. Pass the ice! :)

Recent Recipes and Articles:

Haven't dropped by lately? Here are the currently featured recipes for cocktails, mocktails, reviews, and other articles since my last newsletter:

  » Michelle's Cappuccino Whip Mocktail
A tasty treat any time of the year, this coffee and chocolate milk beverage is a great way to indulge your sweet tooth without the alcohol. With buzz or without.

» Chill Out With A Coffee Frappe
For coffee lovers of all types, this delicious frozen martini is wonderful as a cool treat on a hot night -- or a cold night with a hot guest. Be prepared and make ahead, as you must freeze part of this drink and have it on hand to mix with the rest of the ingredients.

» Trend Alert: Pomtini Martini Recipe
Cosmopolitans have been replaced by the incredibly trendy Pomtini, which uses healthy pomegranate juice and delivers a sweet / tart flavour. Guests will be entranced by the taste, the colour, and your incredible sense of style when you serve this at your next get-together.

» Trend Alert: Lychee Martini Recipe
This exotic, tropical fruit from Vietnam and southern China is becoming more easily spotted in trendy restaurants and bars. With new lychee-flavoured liqueurs now in vogue, you can serve your guests at home and save the valet parking fee for more mixers. Enjoy!

Cutting Back On Booze?

You can eliminate most, if not all, of the alcohol in the cocktail recipes I feature and write about. To find heavenly recipes for beverages that don't involve any booze at all, check out my always-growing section on Mocktails (which are alcohol-free cocktails). You'll enjoy all of the fun without sacrificing taste!

Michelle's Swizzle-Stick Tip

How much liquor to buy? When planning your next cocktail party, count on each person consuming about two drinks every hour. You'll need to stock your bar with a variety of different liqueurs, beer, wines, and alcohol because your guests won't all be drinking the same thing, but using this guideline you can figure out your party booze budget.

Simply Dazzle 'Em...

No one needs to know you require advance notice to be the host(ess) with the mostest! You'll be prepared for guests in a flash with these simple and delicious Canada Day and Fourth of July cocktail recipes:

» Long Kiss Goodnight Martini Recipe

Notes On A Cocktail Napkin...
Last week, I received the ad for my new book. It was one of the most exciting moments of my life! I had to write my own bio, of course, but there was some very impressive promo for the book that I had only just then seen for the first time. Along with the cover graphic, which I created (although it was tweaked by two awesome digital artists who work in-house for the publishing company) the ad had an ISBN number (wow!) and my name listed as the author. I'm really looking forward to sharing the details with everyone, and since the deadline for the text is in a few weeks I will be able to do so very soon.

Please note that I am in the midst of adding new cocktail subjects and dividing them into subcategories on the main Cocktails site, so I really appreciate your patience while I move them to their new homes. I've doubled the database since December, when I took over the site, so you can imagine the amount of recipes I'm dealing with :) I think everything is close to being done, though.

Here are a few subscriber-only links to recipes that site visitors can't get to yet:
  » Classic Champagne Cocktail
  » Cassis Cocktail
  » Shaken Margarita Cocktail
  » Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri
  » Tequila Sunrise
  » Sex on the Beach

Happy Canada Day, and Happy Fourth! :)
