Peppermint tea enhances digestion by increasing stomach acidity. It slightly anesthetizes the mucous membranes and the digestive tract. It is useful for chills, colic, diarrhea, headache, heart trouble, indigestion, nausea, poor appetite, spasms and rheumatism. Peppermint oil mixed with olive oil or another base oil can be rubbed into the skin for spasm or sinusitus.
Caution: May interfere with iron absorption so should be drunk when iron-rich foods or iron supplements aren't being ingested.
