The Hohm Juice Cleanse, A Product Review

The Hohm Juice Cleanse, A Product Review
This year it was one of my goals to do a juice cleanse in January. With my busy schedule of home schooling two kids during the mornings and coaching wellness clients in the afternoons and evenings, I knew I had to find something that was simple to follow and preferably already prepared.

With a Google search I found American Yogini’s Hohm Juice Cleanse. I contacted the founder, Mary Macguire, and she promptly returned my call and answered the big question of how all the juice was going to make it from New York to Orlando. The juice is flash frozen and shipped FedEx Overnight. Of course, this makes it more costly, but a lot less expensive than flying to New York and staying at the American Yogini facility for three days (though a very good option if you have the money!).

I ordered the juice on Wednesday and received it all Friday afternoon so I was able to start the cleanse first thing Saturday morning and finish by Monday night. The cost of the cleanse was $60 per day for me, plus overnight FedEx shipping. The cost varies depending on how many days you are planning to be on it and the company offers a discount to groups.

Every 1.5 hour to 2 hours I would drink one of the eight pre-made raw juices. The first and last juice are to be warmed gently on the stove. I found that having something warm in the morning and at night before bed helped me to wake up to the cold weather outside and fall asleep easy feeling well satisfied. I enjoyed the fruitier juices more than the green ones, especially the "Security" blend and the "Confidence" Blend.

Six of the eight juices each correspond with a different Chakra to help cleanse the energy centers of the body in addition to the physical cleanse. The colors of the chakras were represented in the wide spectrum of colors contained in the juice blends.

I enjoyed The Hohm Juice Cleanse because I was able to carry out my day with taking care of the kids and preparing food for the family. I did try to rest in between those times as cleansing is supposed to be a time of resting the body. The only downside of this cleanse was that the juices were very cold from being frozen during transport, and the temperature outside was between 30-50 degrees for the three days. Which brings me to the conclusion that maybe this cleanse is better during the warmer months of Spring or Summer.
