Leslie Sansone’s Walk Away the Pounds Review

Leslie Sansone’s Walk Away the Pounds Review
Leslie Sansone’s Walk Away the Pounds program encompasses several walking videos or DVDs and the program is detailed in a book by the same name.

The book has great information on how and why Leslie developed the program, as well as info on how and why walking is good for you and is a good weight loss exercise. She also includes a great 42 day walking log with tips, scheduling and recording your progress.

Leslie’s daily log includes a place to check off your water consumption and your daily multi-vitamin. That’s about all her “walk diet” recommends, as Leslie believes that with walking regularly, you will lose weight and naturally begin to eat better. For six weeks, she recommends you “diet” only by walking according to the program she has outlined in the book. The book also includes information on walking when pregnant, power walking and dieting. Plus, there are several inspirational stories from people (Walking Wonders) who have followed Leslie’s program and lost weight (from 20 to 100 pounds) and improved their health. Reading these stories is really good for motivation and inspiration!

Leslie’s walking inside programs use a series of simple steps combined with simple strength-training. Her four basic steps include walking in place, side steps, kicks and knee lifts. Simple to do and you can walk a mile in about 18 minutes without ever leaving your house. I have her one-mile and two-mile DVD’s and they truly are easy enough for almost anyone to use. Leslie encourages you to do what you can and anytime you get a bit tired, you go back to just walking in place. They are excellent for beginners, those who need low-impact programs or for anyone who needs a simple, easy back-up workout plan. I mostly use these as rainy day alternatives now, and I’m glad they are there when I need some exercise but don’t want to walk outside.

And, you do not need a lot of indoor walking space to follow Leslie’s programs! I use a space about four feet by four feet in my living room and could probably manage with less. If you can stand up and take two steps in either direction, you probably have plenty of room to do any of her workouts.

Advanced walkers might prefer her Walk and Jog program, which is a 32-minute interval-based program which helps you move from just walking to adding some 2-minute intervals of jogging. Interval training is highly recommended by most fitness professionals as a way to increase your endurance, improve muscle strength and burn more calories.
