In the coming weeks, families and teachers may be stressing out over evaluations for setting goals for next year's IEPs and discussions of how well our children's current IEPs have met their needs. Please put aside anxiety and frustration as often as possible so you can build your own personal One Year, Five Year, and Ten Year Plan for your family that sets goals for the best possible outcomes. Our daily lives are not dress rehearsals for better days so we may as well enjoy them to the max while we can enjoy each day together. And never underestimate the challenges and impossibilities other moms deal with every day - you are not alone in your hopes and dreams or your worst possible parenting moments. Hang in there! All our lives could be completely transformed this time next year ~ let us raise our expectations beyond any hope of rising to them, and overcome whatever negative thoughts that arise via exhaustion or conflict. We stand strong, together, and also may find some gentleness left even for the most frustrating individuals.
